Field Etiquette
Ratcatcher Attire
Field Etiquette

- Choose the appropriate field according to horse and rider ability and fitness.
- Maintain adequate space between horses.
- Be cognizant of staff and hounds – they have the right of way.
- Warn others of potential hazards (ware hole, ware wire, ware hound).
- Juniors under 16 must ride with an adult.
- Please be mindful of the “4 L’s.” Don’t be late, no lunging in the trailer area, larking only when permitted, and avoid lecturing others in the hunt field.
Ratcatcher Attire

- Ratcatcher/tweed with beige or rust britches are appropriate.
- Black or brown tall boots may be worn.
- A hunt appropriate helmet is required. De La Brooke highly encourages the wearing of the ASTM/SEI approved helmets with harness properly fastened by all riders in the interest of safety.
- Both horse and rider should be clean and tidy. Braiding is optional, but great for your photos!
